Prenatal yoga practice can alleviate the pain of sciatica, try the poses demonstrated in this video and see the benefits of yoga for your healthy pregnancy!
Your sciatic nerve starts in the lower back, runs down your buttocks and branches down the back of your legs right down as far as your ankles and feet. Your growing uterus can press against the sciatic nerve, weight gain and fluid retention can add to the pressure and sometimes your baby can move, pressing her head against the nerve ….ouch! Pregnancy sciatica is most common during the third trimester and you can experience pain on either or both sides of your lower back, buttocks or a shooting pain in your legs.
Clare Maddalena of LushTums shows you some easy to follow prenatal yoga movements that can help ease sciatica.
Watch this video and follow it with pregnancy yoga for anxiety, pregnancy yoga for back ache or pregnancy yoga for labour preparation!
Always consult your midwife or doctor if you have any concerns about your health, your pregnancy or the health of your baby.
